How to compress a JPEG

  1. Choose or drop JPG files — several at once is fine.
  2. Keep quality at 80 or move the slider; Before / After on the photo shows the difference.
  3. Download the JPG or all photos as a ZIP.

Your browser compresses the photos — nothing to install, no sign-up.

Questions

What quality should I pick?

75–85 is the sweet spot: the difference is usually invisible and the file is several times lighter. For email and messengers, 70 is enough.

Why is this better than saving from an editor?

JPG goes through MozJPEG: progressive JPEG and optimized tables give a lighter file than a regular save at the same quality.

What if the JPG is already compressed?

Then it can’t get much lighter without loss — the tool keeps the photo as is, removes only the EXIF, and tells you so.
