Questions

How is an amount written in an English-language contract?

In words with a capital letter, cents as digits: “One thousand two hundred fifty US dollars and 50 cents”. Invoices often use “and 50/100” — that option is here too.

Hyphens in numbers?

Yes, from twenty-one to ninety-nine: “twenty-one”, “ninety-nine”. The tool adds them for you.

What about very large amounts?

Up to 999 trillion: thousand, million, billion, trillion — the short scale used in American and British English.
