a short guide

How to build a Telegram Mini App: what it’s made of

A Mini App (also called a Telegram Web App) is a web page that Telegram opens inside a chat. So building one has two halves: a bot in Telegram and a web part outside it. The bot is registered in BotFather — Telegram’s official bot for creating bots. That’s also where your app gets linked to it.

The web part is the screens themselves: a catalog, a cart, a booking page or a client account. It’s hosted so it has a permanent address. Then that address is attached to the menu button in the bot’s chat — and a client opens the app with one tap, without installing anything.

Next comes what makes a Mini App more convenient than a website. Login via Telegram: the app knows right away who’s using it, with no passwords or sign-up. Payment in the same window — through a payment provider you have your own contract with. And a bot alongside it that confirms orders and sends reminders.

The last step is testing on real phones, iPhone and Android, and on a computer: the button, the screens, payment, the messages to you. Only then is the app ready to take orders.

two halves

How to make a Mini App in Telegram: what gets set up where

Some settings live in Telegram itself, some on hosting. Both must be on your accounts.

In Telegram

  • Bot in BotFather: name, description, avatar
  • Linking the app to the bot
  • Menu button that opens the app
  • Messages: confirmation to the client, order to you

Outside Telegram

  • Web part: catalog, cart or booking screens
  • Hosting with a permanent address
  • Where orders are stored: a spreadsheet or a panel
  • Connecting a payment provider

before launch

How to launch a Telegram Mini App with no surprises

Before launch I check every point myself — they shape a client’s first impression.

Phone first

Most clients open the app on their phone. So I build and check the screens there first, and only then on a computer.

Light and dark theme

Some people use Telegram in dark mode, some in light. The app takes the messenger’s theme, so it doesn’t look out of place next to the chat.

No sign-up

Telegram itself tells the app who opened it. A separate sign-up with a password only scares people away here.

Payment tested

I run the payment from the button all the way to your card, so your first client doesn’t hit an error.

Confirmation in the chat

After ordering, the client gets a confirmation in the same chat, and you get the order itself in Telegram.

no code

What to decide before you build a Mini App

One real order example

Write out one real order, from the client’s first tap to the moment it reaches you. It shows every screen you need — and nothing extra.

The account the bot will live on

The bot and the app should be on your account from day one. Then the code, access and clients stay with you, whatever happens.

Payment provider

If clients will pay in the app, you sign the contract with the payment provider. The money goes straight to you, and I connect the payment flow.

Where orders arrive

Decide where it’s convenient for you to see them: in Telegram, a spreadsheet or a simple panel. And who replies to them.

Live demo

An order in a few taps — try it yourself

This is working code, not a picture. Build a cart and place an order — and see what reaches you that very second.

how I work

How I build a Mini App: four steps

You don’t need to figure out BotFather or hosting. All I need is one real order example — the rest is on me.

  1. Your order example

Message me on Telegram — a voice note is fine: what the app should do and for whom. I ask a few questions and give you a price.

  2. List of screens

I write out the screens and what goes on each. You edit a line in the list, not a finished screen — that’s cheaper.

  3. Built piece by piece

I build the app and the bot right on your account. You open it on your own phone and see it come together piece by piece.

  4. Chat button and launch

I connect payment and test it all the way to your card, then put the app on the bot’s menu button. From that moment it takes orders.

Price on request

For a turnkey Mini App, I quote the price personally after our first conversation — and it won’t go up after that.

Questions

Questions about building a Mini App

How do I build a Telegram Mini App if I’m not a developer?

You don’t need to figure out BotFather, hosting or code. All I need from you is one real order example and a decision on where orders should arrive. I handle the bot, the screens, payment and the Mini App launch, and it all sits on your account.

How do I add a Mini App to a Telegram bot I already have?

A Mini App links to an existing bot and opens from a button in its chat. First I look at the bot’s code and tell you straight what makes more sense: extend it or rebuild it.

How do I launch a Mini App in Telegram so clients open it?

A Mini App opens from the menu button in your bot’s chat, so a client just needs to message the bot or follow a link to it. Nothing to install: the app runs inside Telegram on iPhone, Android and desktop.

What should I prepare for the first conversation about a Mini App?

One real order is enough — from the client’s first tap to the moment it reaches you — plus knowing whether clients will pay right in the app. You don’t need to prepare technical details for the first conversation about a Mini App.

What’s the difference between a Telegram Web App and a Mini App?

None: Telegram Web App is just another name for a Mini App, a small app that opens right in a chat. It’s built the same way: a bot, a web part, a menu button and tests.

How much does it cost to build a Mini App?

For a turnkey Mini App, I quote the price personally after our first conversation — and it won’t go up after that.

Message me — I’ll handle it.

I’ll reply shortly.
